We are getting there in terms of making the learning sequence (as Sara puts it) clear for kids. A few overall notes:

- I think the biggest story note is to think about what the question the kids want to answer and what is the answer, and then set that up as a mystery story. For example, if the question the kids are trying to answer is ""Why is the snow different today?"" And the answer is ""It's much colder today"" then we should set up the story so that a) that's the question the kids try to investigate, and b) at the climax ""aha"" moment, that's what the kids figure out: ""Today is much colder, that's why the snow is different!"" So give them clues that the temperature is different, but don't give them the information directly or have the kids point out the difference in temperature until the aha moment. Suggestions below.

- There's a few things compounding the main mystery: 1) there is a lot of emphasis on it being warm at the beginning, will kids be confused that it can snow when it's warm? 2) the kids run into two problems right now: they run out of snow, and then the snow is too powdery. Let's make sure these two things don't get in the way of a clear throughline for the main mystery.

- Check with Sara, but the conclusions from before were that we wanted to stay a bit away from the states of matter of water. Perhaps there is a way to get the kids to simply observe that warming the snow makes it slushier without having to go into the physics of it. Suggestions below.

- Might help to have Mrs. Elephant confirm to the kids that their observation is correct and fill in the gaps that the kids can't figure out for themselves. See suggestions below.

- Part of the fun is always to see how the kids find a solution to their problem, so suggest not having the kids step through the solution and making it more of a fun reveal. Suggestion below.

Thanks!
