- A lot of the dialogue doesn't feel preschool kid natural. E.g. in the first page alone: ""pro"" ""specialty"" ""harvest"" ""expert"". On the next pass, pay a little closer attention to vocabulary.

- I don't feel the learning is coming through very well. It's all hanging on that long sequence of seasonal flashbacks right now, which a) slows the story down a lot, and b) involves a lot of non-linear time jumps which will be difficult for kids to care and piece together the logic. Suggest we limit the mystery to one thing (Why isn't the peach tree growing more peaches?) that the kids have to piece together, and then having Farmer Bear broaden their understanding about the general case of seasons for fruits. E.g. focus the kids' plot/actions on discovering that peaches only grow in summer, and then Farmer Bear confirms and explains and walks them through how the same concept applies to other fruits and seasons.

- I don't feel the story is set up very well, or ramps up well, to feel the drama and stakes. Let's spend a little more time setting up the problem and the stakes.

Specific suggestions for each section below. Thanks!"</Text>

- Start us off communicating a little better that it's the end of Summer. Right now it's just one throw away line by Mr. Rabbit, but it should be a little more. We should feel it, so that later on the kids at home can understand and connect it to the problem solving. For example, you could have one of the kids feel a little chill breeze and say they thought it was summer, they thought it was going to be hot! and then someone chimes in that it's almost the end of summer and Fall is going to start or is starting.

- The central goal for the kids in this episode is that they want to share the peaches with other people. Let's make more of this and really set this up. This is the motivation that launches them into the second act and beyond. Have the kids be enjoying the peaches (hmmm, SO GOOD!) and then they have the idea to share it with others. Yeah, awesome idea! Then everyone can taste how good they are! Great! Let's put them in the basket and go around sharing! etc. (Right now, their motivation is that they have too many, which is kind of a non-emotional motivation, and they dart off too quickly).

- Don't give away that it's the last of the peaches (as Mr. Rabbit says). Instead, just have the kids fill the basket and then later they realize they picked all the peaches.

Between the added and expanded bits and the fun picking sequences and jokes you have, this Act I should take you to about page 3 or 4.

One note about these beginning scenes: don't make it a competition to see who can pick the best, just have the kids have fun and show off or try things for fun. And don't make it a competition to see who has the best tasting peach, (and don't have the kids steal peach from each other either)."</Text>

- Don't launch straight into a peach sharing montage. Play out the first instance of peach sharing so we see what they kids are aiming for and what's at stake. Have the kids arrive at the first location, and recap what they are doing: we got these from Elinor's peach tree and they are so good we want to share them. Why, thank you! Mmmm, so yummy! That's amazing. The kids feel great about it. Add a funny moment with that character. Awesome, ok let's go share the rest of these peaches! Then you can go to the montage.

- At the end of the montage, also play out the last instance a little more. Koa really wants some, but uh oh, they are out! Koa is bummed. The kids promise they'll get more for him. Now it's clearer what the kids want and what's at stake.

- When they get back to the tree, they realize there are no more peaches. They look all around the tree, no peaches. We must have picked them all. The tree ran out?? How can that be? Play out the kid misconceptions and the central mystery a little more here. They thought tree always had fruit. Why isn't the peach three growing more peaches? Maybe they can just sit and wait for the tree to grow more. But Koa is waiting. I know, I bet Farmer Bear has peaches. She has lots of fruit trees in her farm, maybe she'll give us a few we can share with Koa. And off they go.

I think with all these changes, Act II should take to you about page 8."</Text>

- As mentioned, I think we are getting bogged down trying to get the kids to solve the general case (different fruits have different seasons). Instead, let's try having the kids only solve the specific case (Why isn't the peach tree growing more peaches?), and then have Farmer Bear step them through the general idea.

- Start off the farm visit as you have it, but maybe expand the intro a little more. Another small recap never hurts: have them explain briefly to Farmer Bear what they are doing. The way you have them run off before Farmer Bear can explain is nice.

- After the kids arrive at the peach tree grove, and after they see that there are no peaches here either, have them restate the central mystery: Why aren't these trees growing more peaches?

- I think a way for the kids to get to the solution is to have the kids realize that all their recollections of eating/picking peaches are in Summer. For example, the kids say they need more observations. What do we remember about eating or having peaches? Ari recalls being at the beach in the hot summer and eating peaches at a picnic on the sand. Olive recalls it was a hot summer night when her mom made peach pie, and Elinor recalls needing her summer hat in all the times she picked from the tree in her yard. Then they figure it out: we've only had peaches in summer. Maybe peaches only grow in the summer? Do you remember having peaches in winter? No. In Fall? No. That's it! Then Farmer Bears comes in and confirms and explains different fruits and plants all grow in different seasons (with examples).

- then the kids are happy they solved the mystery, but they are sad that they can't give Koa a peach. Farmer Bear tells them not to worry, he can have more when they grow again next summer. In the meantime, you know what IS starting to be in season? Apples! Yay! They take apples to Koa and share them with all the kids that are hanging out with Koa, and then they sing the song, and then end.

A few extra notes on this section: Don't have Ari act selfish with the peach."</Text>
