This builds scenes that will delight young children and keep them engaged throughout the episode. It models important social emotional learning such as team work and inclusion. One of the strategies I use while reviewing the scripts is to focus in on what the ‘take away’ message is for 4 years olds from the 11 minute episode. From both the characters and the viewers point of view it seems the major question asked should be more about the clubhouse expanding then about the snails. How can we make a clubhouse with enough space for everyone when people keep joining (our club is growing)? Then when they learn from observing the snail that the shell grows as the snail grows, the characters get the idea of adding on additions to the clubhouse as needed. As for the life science learning I would focus on the idea that snails / clubs need shelter and shelters needs to provide appropriate space to live and play. It might be good to use the language of shelter and space when possible. </Text>
